An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is the tool that many Recruiters and Job Boards rely on to automate their recruiting and recruitment operations.  The ATS scans/filters Resumes/CV’s for keywords and job criteria listed in the Job Advertisement.

 

Resumes/CV’s uploaded to an ATS are only viewed by the Recruiter and/or Employer if the ATS matches them to the job ad. 

 

Some ATS’s will forward all the responses to the Recruiter and/or Employer in order of relevance.  Some ATS’s will only forward a limited number.

 

It's a well-known fact that on average, a Recruiter and/or Employer will spend an average of 6 seconds reviewing an individual resume.

Which is why you need to understand how to OPTOMISE your Cover Letter and Resume/CV and CUSTOMISE your application to “connect” to an ATS. 

 

The Content of your Cover Letter and Resume/CV must make it past the ATS before it even gets to a Recruiter and/or Employer.
